BARN DANCE & BBQ Potluck — Friday, September 16, 2011 Come join us at the Lawrence Farm—51238 RR221, just south of Hwy 14, call Vicki for directions 780-922-2227. Murray Few will teach and call a few square dances too. Doors Open 6pm, supper 7pm. Please bring your own lawn chairs, meat to BBQ, and either a side dish, vegetable, salad or dessert to share. Please bring your own labeled serving utensils & cold drinks. Hot drinks, plates, plastic cutlery will be provided.
ANNUAL POKER RIDE for STARS — Sunday, Sept 18, 2011 at Ministik Bird Sanctuary. Bring your horse and enjoy the wilderness without going to the mountains (horse shoes not needed). Pack a lunch and come prepared for a 4-5 hour getaway. $10 per person allows you to draw 5 cards for a poker hand and possibly take home some winnings. (You may increase your odds of winning by buying more than one hand). Meet at 10 am to saddle, register and draw your first card. Ride out at 11 am. A BBQ will follow ($2 for Hot Dogs and $1 for pop) This walking trail ride is for intermediate riders and trustworthy horses. A waiver will need to be signed and all riders must register and by at least one poker hand. No smoking or drinking on the trail. For more info contact Vicki @ 922-2227 or Barb @ 434-2000. Directions: from Hwy 14, go south on RR 220. Turn east on TWP Rd 504A one mile until road bends, don’t turn, just drive into grass field parking area.

Members Only FUN HORSE SHOWS — Sunday June 5, July 17, Sept 25, 2011—Fultonvale Outdoor Arena The April 17 show has been changed to July 17, as there is too much snow to melt by then. Incase of bad weather the shows may be cancelled on the Thursday prior. A club email will be sent out at that time. NEW CROSS ENTRY RULES: (1) The same rider cannot ride the same horse in walk trot and loping classes. They can still do showmanship and games. (2) Two riders may not SHARE the same horse except for Walk Trot, or one rider English, one rider Western (3) Riders may enter multiple horses at no extra cost, but may only enter each class once (cannot take both horses in hunter hack, trail or gymkhana) and if riding one english and another western must declare when registering which horse should collect points towards high point. (4) Novice Equitation & Pleasure classes can be ridden English or Western and are for riders in their first year of showing, any age, and may not cross enter with the other equitation or pleasure classes or walk/trot. If enough interest, english and western may be split. Click here for 2011 class list, rules and pre-regiatration, sign waiver and pay $30 entry fee at show. Junior—13 & under, Intermediate-14-16, Senior 17-39, Jack Benny 40+. Rosette Ribbons and High Point Trophies at every show and year end for those attending all 3 shows for Performance and Gymkhana classes! Thanks to Nigel Bennett for designing and running the computer program for show results and registration, and all the other volunteers that help with the show. We will be renting the Colchester Crusaders 4-H Clubs automatic timers for the gymkhana events. Linda Finstad of A Sharper Image Photography will be at our shows this year, taking pictures that will be available to purchase off her website.
