Bowling & Pizza Night — Saturday, February 6, 2010 6pm Sherwood Park Bowling Lanes. $10 for 2 games including shoes. We have the party room reserved and will order pizza. There will be no charge for the pizza to club members, guests & 4-H to pay $5. Concession also available. Contact Loretta at 464-0447 to book lanes.
General Meeting — Monday, February 8, 2010 at 7:30pm at Looma Hall. After the short meeting we will have popcorn and a large screen TV to watch 75 minute Video by Dr. Gerd Heuschman on Equine Biomechanics “If Horses Could Speak”. “A well crafted film that shows how incorrect modern riding negatively affects horses health. The experienced rider and vet utilizes the highest degree of technological help to capture the horse in 3D…”
Annual General Meeting & Pizza Party– Monday, January 11 , 2010 at Looma Hall President, Vice President, Newsletter, Show Committee & Directors elected. Pizza, provided by the club. Membership renewals are due! Orders for new CLSC embroidered clothing due. These items are subsidized for the club and will only be ordered once each year, for current members only. Thanks to Katrina for bringing samples and doing the orders this year. |

Christmas Potluck — Monday, December 14, 2009 — potluck supper Looma Hall 7pm Great food, friends and year end high point horse show trophies were awarded.
No meeting in November— as it conflicts with Farmfair and the Heritage Ranch Rodeo. CLSC members are invited to attend the ATRA meeting Nov 19 at Kirk United Church.
General Meeting — Tuesday, Oct 13, 2009 at 7:30pm at Rafter Diamond K (Ken & Kerri-lee Schmuland’s). Kevin Tash, an Equine Osteopath did a very informative demo.
FUN HORSE SHOW—Sunday Sept 27, 2009 — at Fultonvale for Members Only, was a windy and dusty day, but about 60 participants had a great time at the show.
ANNUAL POKER RIDE for STARS — Sunday, September 20, 2009 70+ riders raised over $1200 for stars and the club voted to top up the donation to $1500.
BARN DANCE & BBQ Potluck, Friday, September 17, 2009 Lots of members and friends enjoyed the potluck BBQ and learning to square dance late into the evening.
Potluck BBQ & Party — Saturday, June 20, 2009 at Colchester Stables (Keith & Donna Dreger’s) 30+ members and guests attended this year and the pool was nice and warm!
2009 MAY LONG WEEKEND Camping and Trail Riding at Horse Creek Ranch About 50 horses and riders from the CLSC and ATRA enjoyed a beautiful Friday and Saturday of riding, as it cooled off Sunday and got a bit of drizzle, many left that evening, anticipating snow overnight. Those of us that stayed, woke up to ice on the buckets, but no snow that morning. Thanks to Murray for bringing his guitar for Saturday evening entertainment!
General Meeting — Monday, May 11, 2009 at 7:30pm at Loretta & Jeff Martin’s arena. Speaker: Daryl Cole from Coles Western Wear and Tack in Vegreville did a very informative clinic with a couple special fitting pads, using some of his Tucker saddles and also the rider’s own saddles. Thanks to Kerri-lee Schmuland and Barb Shindelka for bringing their horses!

Ken Schmuland Horsemanship Clinic – Saturday April 11, 2009 21 riders and spectators attending this informative clinic. www.rafterdiamondk.com All funds were donated to the Veterinary College in Calgary.
Cattle Sorting @ Still Meadows Ranch — Sunday, March 15, 2009 We had the minimum 20 members!
Trail Ride and Chili Lunch @ the Lawrence Acreage – March 22, 2009 20 riders enjoyed the snowy trail ride and 15 more joined us for chili and social!
General Meeting — Monday, March 9, 2009 at 7pm at Beckwith Veterinary Clinic. Dr. Charles Briggs did a hands on demonstration and talk on Equine Dentistry and answered lots of questions for the 30+ members that attended this cold night!
Tack Sale — Saturday, March 7, 2009 from 10am-2pm at Looma Hall. Contact Barb to book a table. If you put a few items on the club table, but you must stay and help.
General Meeting — Monday, February 9, 2009 at 7:30pm at Looma Hall. Eldon Beinert will be talking about the Equine Foundation of Canada. He won the Distinguished Service Award at the HBOC for his contributions to the horse industry. CLSC clothing pick up!
